Franz Anderson housing: council seeks tougher terms as residents press for scrutiny
The Lacey City Council is seeking tougher terms on the Franz Anderson regional housing agreement — and residents are asking for a closer look before the city commits.
Lacey, WA
The Franz Anderson regional housing agreement is still moving through the Lacey City Council — and both the council and residents are pressing for more before the city commits.
Per The JOLT News' coverage (Kameko Marquez, Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, 2026):
- Sept. 7: Lingering concerns over how the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) has handled the Maple Court shelter are driving the council to seek tougher terms on the agreement. The proposed project is a five-story, 71-unit permanent supportive housing building at 527 Franz Anderson Road SE, which LIHI would develop and manage.
- Sept. 10: Residents are asking the council to examine the agreement more closely before making a commitment, keeping the proposal under continued public discussion.
This is a follow-up to Living Lacey's earlier coverage of the Franz Anderson housing debate — the proposal remains under review, and nothing has been approved.
