New park alert: Greg Cuoio Park opens September 24 with a celebration

Lacey's park system is about to get bigger. Greg Cuoio Park — at 2711 Carpenter Rd NE — celebrates its grand opening on Thursday, September 24, 2026, 5:30–7:30 p.m., with an evening of live music, games for the whole family, and "fun in nature," per Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation.

The park's Phase 1 site plan (#24-0031) moved through the City of Lacey's land use process and is listed among projects under construction — now arriving at the finish line.

Why it matters

Greg Cuoio Park adds dedicated parkland on Lacey's northeast side, where growth has outpaced gathering spaces. It joins recent investments like the Rainier Vista pickleball courts (opening fall 2027) and the Regional Athletic Complex improvements in the pipeline.
